Wild Hogs for Wild Loons Ride and Raffle

The Loon Preservation Committee and Laconia Harley-Davidson have partnered for a “Wild HOGs for Wild Loons” Ride and Raffle fundraiser to benefit LPC’s Loon Recovery Initiative. Owners, Steve and Ann Deli, of Laconia Harley-Davidson, have generously donated a Harley-Davidson Softail® Rocker motorcycle to be raffled this summer.

The raffle kick-off will coincide with the opening of the 86th Annual Laconia Bike Week on Saturday June 13, 2009 at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith, NH. The 3,000 tickets will be sold for $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 and are available at The Loon Center throughout the summer, LPC’s tent located at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith during bike week or by calling The Loon Center at 603-476-5666.

The Wild HOGs for Wild Loons Ride will be held on Saturday August 22, 2009. Tour parts of Winnipesaukee and Squam Lakes with stops to view wildlife and hopefully loons. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith and the cost is $10.00 per rider and $5.00 per passenger. The ride will end and festivities will begin between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Laconia Harley-Davidson with food, entertainment and the raffle drawing.

Official Contest Rules:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry and a legal resident of the United States to be eligible. Winners need not be present at drawing.
  2. Tickets are $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 and a total of 3,000 tickets will be sold. There is no limit of tickets that can be sold to an individual purchaser. Tickets can be paid for by cash, check, money order, or debit card. Checks are to be made payable to Loon Preservation Committee.
    Tickets purchased via phone, mail, or email will be mailed to the purchaser within 3 days of order.
  3. Raffle starts on Saturday June 13, 2009 at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith, NH and ends on August 22, 2009 between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. when the winners will be drawn.  Tickets will be sold through August 22, 2009 or until tickets have been sold out, whichever occurs first.
    Phone/Mail/Email ticket sales made after August 15, 2009 will require personal pick up of original raffle ticket prior to August 22, 2009.  Original raffle tickets will be mailed to ticket purchasers who have purchased via phone, mail or email.
  4. Grand Prize Winner will take ownership of a 2009 Harley-Davidson Softail® Rocker™ and must claim prize from Laconia Harley-Davidson, 239 Daniel Webster Hwy (Rte 3), Meredith, NH 03253.  Winner is responsible for pick-up /delivery of motorcycle.
    LPC and/or LHD will not be liable for any personal injury damage the day of the drawing and thereafter.
  5. 2nd & 3rd Place Prize Winners will receive a $500.00 and $100.00 Gift Certificate, respectively, good at Laconia Harley-Davidson and/or White Mountain Harley-Davidson only. 
  6. Winners shall be responsible for any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments, licensing, registration, insurance and like charges associated with the prizes.
    For IRS requirements and Government rules governing withholding of prizes won, check with a qualified financial adviser. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and therefore the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.
  7. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of notification. Should any prize not be claimed within the 30 days, it will then be forfeited to Laconia Harley-Davidson.
  8. Employees of the Loon Preservation Committee and Laconia Harley-Davidson are not eligible to participate in the raffle.
  9. Winners will be drawn at random on August 22, 2009 at Laconia Harley-Davidson, 239 Daniel Webster Hwy (Rte 3), Meredith, NH 03253 and notified via phone or email by August 24, 2009.
  10. Upon issuance of a raffle ticket, all sales are final and non-refundable.
  11. The Loon Preservation Committee and Laconia Harley-Davidson assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible or non-delivered entries. Any mutilated, incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid and shall be immediately disqualified.
  12. Any unsold tickets become the property of Loon Preservation Committee.
  13. 100% of the net proceeds from this raffle benefit the Loon Preservation Committee.
  14. Driver's license or other acceptable form of identification along with the winning ticket stub must be presented before claiming any prize.
  15. Purchasers, by participating (and the winner, by accepting the prize) release the employees of Laconia Harley-Davidson and their respective partners, vendors, agents, representatives, board members, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, and each of their respective directors, officers, partners, employees and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability with respect to participation in the raffle and possession or use of the prize awarded and also acknowledge that they did not receive any representations, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. In the case of any dispute, Laconia Harley-Davidson’s decision shall be final.
